In July 2007 Sue Perdikis and Soula Michaelidis embarked on their sea change journey. They changed their public service career paths to become passionately involved in the pet industry.
As pet lovers and owners of the Glenelg Pet Centre with the famous trademark Pets with Pizazz™ , on Jetty Road Glenelg, they transformed the once overcrowded, dark and dingy shop to a bright and funky pet specialty store. Their huge pet product range includes glitzy accessories, giftware (for pets and people), top quality products and super premium food.
Sue and Soula believe that one of the highlights in visiting the Glenelg Pet Centre is meeting and greeting Sue’s dog ‘Safari’ – the resident Bichon Cross. Sue says “He has become a celebrity in his own right. We have customers coming into the store especially to say hello to Safari.” The customers who know Safari know he is a food lover and with that in mind Sue and Soula have created ‘Safari’s Treat Bar’. This treat bar features over fifty varieties of ‘all natural’ treats, ranging from the old favourites of Liver Treats and Pig’s Ears to the long-lasting Bull Chews and Gourmet Delights such as Canoli Scrolls, Wagging Wheels and Rocky Slice.
The latest exciting venture for Sue and Soula has been the introduction of a new product line which is a great range of aromatherapy products suitable for dogs. These three Australia made products (each having their own purpose) are:
With all the stresses we endure in today’s busy world, Sue believes that our canine buddies (who are now considered an integral part of the family unit) also suffer these stresses. That is why these aromatherapy products (containing holistic essential oils) are highly recommended for relaxation, separation anxiety and joint and muscle massage on older dogs.
Sue and Soula are now serving the community by using their highly honed ‘public service skills’ in the retail trade – to them it’s not just about selling products to the people but about connecting with pet lovers and ‘wannabe’ pet lovers.
